Organically Inclined

About Mish

Well, I am the wife to John (for the last 10 years), and the mother to Matt, 15; Lydia, 14; Alex, 11; Liam, 9; Jack, 2; and baby Kiara, who arrived in October 07.

I am also a writer – of books on parenting & pregnancy by Barron’s and a memoir, “Without a Net: Middle Class and Homeless (With Kids) in America,” by Viking – and articles on lots of stuff, like attachment parenting, gardening, raising teens, simple living, eating well, living cheap, homelessness and poverty, etc. Some of them have been published in places like Salon.com, The NYT, The CSM, Redbook, Family Circle, and FamilyFun.

As Founding Editor of Organically Inclined, I get to write about a lot of things that interest me.

I am also an activist for issues like homelessness, health care, global warming, children, homeschooling, home birth, breastfeeding, and some other stuff.

I hope you’ll email me at kennedy.mish@gmail.com  and say hi.

    Hello Michelle,

You are a constant source of inspiration for me and I love to read your words of wisdom, kindness and hope.

I am now expecting baby #3 and wondering where I go from here..

I have read Without a Net 3 times now and remember the times that I also was so down and out that my kids and I were living day to day out of my 1996 cherry red volvo.. a car that used to make me proud, but then became a source of embarrasment when my son’s friends figured out that it was not only our car, but also our home.

I am so hoping that somehow you can contact me.. I have so many questions.

    You are truely amazing,

Hope that all is well with you.

    Blessings,

    Valerie D.
